Cooperative Engineering pLant projEct Business Exercise and Simulation

MIPET CELEBES Experience: 4 Team Cooperating on large Industrial Project over the Network by using a Distributed SImulator

CELEBES allows the MIPET Attendees to experience the problem to finalize and manage the Planning, Budget and resources for an Industrial Plant Project.
The case study is related to a 150 MW Thermal Power Plant to be constructed in Celebes Island (Indonesia) and it is based on RPG (Role Play Game) among 4 teams: Engineering, Purchaising, Construction and Commissioning.
Attendees receive detailed documentation related to other similar projects in order to properly identify how to address the problem; this is very similar to the real situation they will experience in real life.
CELEBES is supported by a distributed Simulator, developed by Simulation Team, allowing to evaluate the impact of different decisions in terms of milestones, activity schedule, resource allocation (i.e. engineering offices, construction site, commissioning operations) as well as economic and financial aspects.
CELEBES is used to evaluate the MIPET Class and single Attendees over a complex problem in terms of Project Management skills for this specific Operative Module.
